Marie Osmond Shares Clip of Football Stadium Singing Along to Her Song ‘Paper Roses’ — See the Amazing Moment

What a moment! Marie Osmond had quite the experience recently when saw thousands of people singing in unison a song she made famous back in 1973.

The 59-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday, May 21, to share a video of a Kilmarnock FC — a Scottish football team from East Ayrshire — that shows the massive crowd at a game all singing the song “Paper Roses.” The tune was a top five hit in 1960 for singer Anita Bryant, but Marie took her version all the way to the number one spot in the US country chart.

“I’m in the studio recording my new symphonic album with tears in my eyes as I saw this video,” the performer captioned the clip. “I’m playing it for everybody in the studio. So cool … I’m so happy for all of you!!! #ILoveKillie #PaperRoses @kilmarnockfootballclub.”

Fans were loving the video as well, as they took to the comments section to react. “That’s amazing! How spontaneous and special!” one person said. Another added, “I still remember all of the words to that song, and I was 4-years-old when it came out.”

The song, which also reached number two in the UK charts, has been adopted by the Kilmarnock FC faithful as their national anthem. Donny Osmond‘s sister even visited the team back in 2013, revealing that her love for the team came after bumping into supporter Robert Morton in Las Vegas a few years prior.

“[Robert] told me ‘Paper Roses’ was the club’s song. I said ‘shut up’ but he told me it was true,” the TV personality said during her visit according to Daily Record. “Every since then I have been a Killie fan. I watch the games and I love the passion of the supporters. Look at you guys, you are amazing.”

She added, “When I found out [Donny and I] were coming to Scotland I had to get down here to meet everyone. …I’m forever a Killie girl now.” So sweet!
