Don’t expect Martha Stewart to ever slow down and retire! While exclusively speaking with Closer Weekly at the 2019 Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala in NYC on Thursday, Jan. 10, the 77-year-old star revealed her biggest goal for the new year is to write her 100th book.

“My most important [thing to accomplish this year is], well, actually to start writing my hundredth book!” Martha gushed to Closer at the special event during which the lifestyle mogul was presented with YMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

In addition to her many, many cookbooks and other projects, Martha recently launched her first shoe line called Martha Everyday with Payless ShoeSource. “I’m in fashion now, that’s why I’m getting honored by this group tonight. I had a very successful year on QVC with my fashion line, but [my shoe line is] really nice and practical, I call it every day elegant. It’s working really well, people love it,” she told us.

But don’t worry, Martha assured her fans that she’d never trade her new love of fashion for her original passions. “Oh no, no never! I will always love cooking, I will always love gardening, I will love everything about the home, and fashion is part of home,” she shared.

With decades of business and showbiz success under her belt, Martha admitted in a recent podcast interview that she’s become the powerhouse she is today by being fearless. “I’m not afraid of anything,” she said. “Fearlessness really, really helps.” Martha also shared that of all her projects, she hopes her books remain her greatest legacy. “I thought if I don’t write a book, my grandchildren, if I ever have any, will never know what Grandma did in her life because catering is so ephemeral,” she said, referring to one of her very first jobs. “You do it… and the minute they eat the dinner, it’s gone. I wanted to make sure that I recorded my ideas, the beautiful recipes.” We can’t wait to read your 100th book when it comes out, Martha!
