Quick thinking! Matt Damon found himself rocking another man’s clothes during a trip abroad this week when his airline did something lots of travelers have had to deal with — lost luggage!

The 48-year-old arrived at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Tuesday, January 22, with a winning smile, plenty of topics to discuss and … not the outfit he’d planned. But thanks to his friend Gary White, the actor didn’t have to show up in his hotel robe. “The relationship has developed to the point where I’m wearing Gary’s clothes right now because Swiss Air lost my bags. So we’ve come a long way,” the Good Will Hunting star joked to the crowd during a panel discussion. Matt and Gary are such good pals that they actually cofounded the site Water.org together.

One would never be able to tell that the Oscar winner was sporting someone else’s clothes as he discussed his mishap while wearing a red v-neck sweater over a white collared shirt with a black sports jacket on top. And even though he wasn’t in his preferred clothing, Matt still spoke about worldwide access to safe drinking water while on the panel hosted by Bloomberg.

“It underlines everything,” he said. “All these issues of extreme poverty are affected by it. It really touches everything. You can’t solve any of these problems we’re talking about today — gender equality, climate change, all of these things — water touches all of them.”

The actor — who is married to Luciana Barroso and is a proud dad to daughters Alexia, 20, Isabella, 12, Gia, 10, and Stella, 8 — brought Water.org (previously known as WaterPartners) to life in 2009, and, according to the organization’s site, they have “empowered more than 16 million people with access to safe water and sanitation.” The site also states, “Access to safe water can protect and save lives, just because it’s there. Access to safe water has the power to turn time spent into time saved, when it’s close and not hours away. It can turn problems into potential: unlocking education, economic prosperity, and improved health.”
