When Patrick Swayze passed away in 2009 to pancreatic cancer, he left behind his mother, Patsy Swayze, and his wife of more than 34 years, Lisa Niemi. But what fans might not know is that he also has three siblings, all but one of them have been media-shy most of their lives. Although the family seems close-knit these days, back in 2015 they were feuding with Patrick’s widow, Lisa. According to reports, the family had plans to turn the late actor’s beloved ranch, Rancho Bizarro, into a museum commemorating the Dirty Dancing star. Instead, Lisa sold the ranch, much to the chagrin of the Swayzes.
“Lisa sold everything — including the Mercedes that [Patrick] bought her from his Road House [earnings],” his niece, Danielle Swayze, said at the time. “It’s a slap in the face to Patrick’s fans. And to not even give the Swayze family anything is just cold-hearted.”
Lisa, who was married to Patrick for 34 years, remarried in 2014 to jewelry billionaire Albert DePrisco — four years after the actor’s death.
“I have to say, that the love I have for Patrick was never in conflict or competition with my feelings for Albert,” she told People back then. “That is until Albert asked me to marry him!…Albert knew I still loved Patrick and would always love him, and told me, ‘and I know you love me, and I love you.’ How could I not marry this man? As I had time to process the change my life was going to take, my doubts became less and less, and I became more and more sure.”
