Actor-comic Paul Reiser sits down with Closer Weekly, 17 years after his hit sitcom Mad About You ended. In the exclusive interview, Paul shares that he still keeps in touch with his Mad About You costars but doesn't see a reunion in their future.
In fact, Paul says he saw Helen Hunt just three weeks ago, “we had lunch,” he tells Closer. “She had a Chinese chicken salad and a Diet Coke. I talk to her all the time, and the [other] actors and the writers…”
Does that mean Paul is up for a reunion? “I’d rather have lunch with them,” he quips. “It’s sort of like high school. It’s a great moment in time. You can’t re-assemble it, but you stay in touch.”

Since the series ended, Paul has had a lot to keep him busy. “About four years ago, I started doing stand-up again, and as soon as I did that, all these nice things started happening,” he explains to Closer.

“I have a half-dozen very different movies coming out next year, and I’m writing and producing an NBCUniversal digital comedy series about The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1972.”
Paul explains to Closer the benefits of being at this new stage in his life and career. “You worry less because you make better choices. You get more comfortable in your own skin.”
