Time hasn’t lessened Pierce Brosnan‘s love for Robin Williams. The Mrs. Doubtfire star took to Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 3 to share a funny throwback pic of himself with his late co-star — and the photo from the 1993 comedy is hilarious enough to make us want to go back and rewatch the beloved flick!

“I remember this day like it was yesterday,” he captioned the photo. “It was a San Francisco morning on the set of Mrs Doubtfire… a drive by fruiting… I thought we would be there all morning trying to get the shot, Robin nailed it on the second take. I am so proud to have been part of that movie and to have known the great Robin Williams.”

The heartwarming tribute comes just days before the third anniversary of Robin’s death on Aug. 11. Frankly, we’re not surprised that Pierce shared this sweet shout-out to his old friend especially since he was one of the first to speak out after the news first broke that Robin had passed.

“When I went up to do Mrs. Doubtfire in San Francisco all those years ago, the very first day of shooting they said to me, ‘Do you want to meet Robin?’ I said, ‘Sure, I’d love to.’ I mean, I was a huge fan of the man’s work,” he told Entertainmant Tonight. “I went into the makeup trailer and Robin was sitting there in a pair of boots and his hairy legs, and a Hawaiian shirt, and his hairy arms, and there he sat, but with Mrs. Doubtfire‘s head on. So, that was my first encounter with Robin Williams.”
It’s clear that Pierce really valued his friendship with Robin and cherishes their experience together working on the film. “I never really worked with Robin Williams, to tell you the truth. I worked with Mrs. Doubtfire,” he added. “He was a magnificent human being, and a beautiful person.”
