Rebecca Romijn Says Her 10-Year-Old Twins Will ‘Be 20 Before’ They Get Cell Phones
Go play outside? Rebecca Romijn is not about giving her kids access to a cellphone quite yet as she believes it does more harm than good.
The 46-year-old actress told Us Weekly at the season 2 premiere of Star Trek: Discovery on Thursday, January 17, that her 10-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly, have “been begging for phones.” “That’s not happening for as long as I can possibly go,” the former model said. She added, “I’ve been told that grades suffer when kids get phones, so they’ll be 20 before I get them a phone! My kids are nagging me about it because of lot of their friends already have them. … [Those parents] are ruining it for the rest of us.”
The X-Men star, who was with John Stamos from 1998 to 2005, is currently married to actor Jerry O’Connell. And when it comes between her and her husband, 44, Rebecca admits that she’s “probably more of a disciplinarian” than he is.
And yet, Rebecca is all about her daughters. “They’re sassy. They just turned 10, double digits,” she said. “It’s exciting. … The more developed they become, the more I enjoy them. They’re great human beings. I really enjoy my time with them.”
Rebecca and Jerry said their I dos in 2007, and ever since then they have been inseparable. In fact, Jerry once exclusively told Closer Weekly that his wife “makes me laugh a lot,” adding, “We just laugh all the time.” The Stand By Me actor continued, “Even when we do get into fights, we just really want to get ready to laugh!”
In another exclusive with Closer Weekly, Jerry joked about why the pair aren’t likely to get divorced anytime in the near future. “We have a crazy household with our kids and our three dogs,” he said at the time. “Our house is so crazy that we just don’t want to get divorced right now because neither one of us wants to end up with our kids and our dogs. We realize it’s a team effort and there’s no way we can do it on our own right now!”
