Robert De Niro ‘Madly in Love’ With 46-Year-Old GF Tiffany Chen: ‘He May Pop the Question Soon’

Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen are more in love than ever and enjoying date nights in Cannes, as a source exclusively tells Closer the Hollywood legend is ready to tie the knot for the third time at the ripe old age of 81! 

“Tiffany makes him so happy, people might roll their eyes at the age gap, but this relationship works really well for both of them,” the insider shares.  

The Casino star was spotted out on a date with his 46-year-old gal just after accepting an honorary Palme d’Or at this year’s festival. She joined him on the red carpet, as well, alongside his youngest daughter, Helen, 14, whom he shares with ex wife Grace Hightower. The screen icon has been involved in some high profile romances throughout his multi-decade career in Hollywood — including marriages to Diahnne Abbott and Grace, 71, and relationships with Toukie Smith and Naomi Campbell — with the source noting few have been as effortless and enjoyable as his current relationship with Tiffany. 

“There’s no drama, which is something he’s dealt with a lot in past relationships,” the insider explains, “but with Tiffany things are smooth sailing.” 

The two met on the set of the 2015 movie The Intern, with Tiffany, a martial arts instructor, teaching Robert Tai Chi. Since he split from his last ex in 2018, they’ve enjoyed a PDA-filled time together, though despite being photographed taking luxurious vacations and sitting down for some mega-fine dining, they’ve yet to publicly discuss their relationship. Regardless of The Irishman star’s tight-lipped nature, the source says it’s not indicative that they aren’t serious, but rather Robert simply not caring much for pleasing the press anymore.

“They’ve been together more than four years now, but the shine hasn’t worn off at all, Robert still lights up when she walks in the room,” the source says. “She’s such a wonderful mom, she’s very hands on and organized, the house runs like clockwork.” 

In 2023 the screen legend revealed he had welcomed his seventh child, though didn’t mention any specifics regarding the mother. The actor’s About My Father costar Kim Cattrall would later confirm his child, a daughter named Gia, was from his relationship with Tiffany. Now the father of a toddler, the source says the octogenarian actor is grateful every day he has such a doting mother and wife around to care for both of them.

“Robert acknowledges how lucky he is because she handles all the day-to-day stuff with their little girl and he gets to just enjoy all the fun stuff, like watching cartoons, taking her out for walks, and reading her bedtime stories,” the insider explains. 

Despite two failed previous marriages, it’s possible the Cape Fear actor may be willing to give it another go, even this late in life, as he does believe he’s finally found the one after all of these years.

“It’s no secret Tiffany would love to be his wife and a lot of people are predicting he’s going to pop the question soon,” the insider says. “He’s madly in love and wants to give her everything she asks for.”
