Britain's suavest James Bond is celebrating a big birthday today, and to celebrate, Closer is looking back at the Oscar-winning actor's ten most memorable movie roles.

10. First Knight (1995)

This romantic drama featured Sean as King Arthur, who falls for Guinevere (Julia Ormond) who in turn falls for Lancelot (Richard Gere). Though critics had mixed opinions on this film, loyal Sean fans couldn’t deny he was perfect for the role.
9. Murder On The Orient Express (1974)

When a financier (Richard Widmark) is brutally murdered on the famous train-line, every passenger instantly becomes a suspect in this British mystery film. The magic of this whodunit comes from the fascinating assortment of characters, played by an incredible ensemble cast, which included Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Wendy Hiller, John Gielgud, and Sir Sean.
8. The Untouchables (1987)

Inspired by the 1950s TV series of the same name, this historical crime drama features Sean as Irish-American officer Jim Malone, who aided Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner) in his pursuit to foil Chicago gangster Al Capone (Robert De Niro). Sean was awarded the coveted Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for this portrayal.
7. The Hunt for Red October (1990)

This thriller, based on Tom Clancey’s novel of the same name, took place in 1984 and followed Sean as a Soviet submarine captain commanding a new vessel called "Red October." The film, which received rave reviews, also featured Alec Baldwin, Sam Neill, James Earl Jones and a very young Stellan Skarsgård.
6. The Great Train Robbery (1979)

In late nineteenth century London, crooked mastermind Edward Pierce, played by Sean, and partner Robert Agar (Donald Sutherland) devise a plan to steal a large shipment of gold from a moving train.
5. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

In this action-adventure film, Indiana Jones (portrayed by none other than Harrison Ford) searches for his father (Sean), who had been captured by the Nazi's while searching for the Holy Grail.
4. Just Cause (1995)

Sean plays a Harvard professor opposed to capital punishment in this thriller based on a John Katzenbach novel of the same name. It also stars Blair Underwood, Laurence Fishburne, Ed Harris and a very young Scarlett Johansson.
3. Rising Sun (1993)

After a professional escort is murdered at a party at the U.S. office of a major Japanese corporation, Capt. John Conner (played by Sean), is partnered with Lt. Webster Smith (Wesley Snipes) to investigate.
2. From Russia With Love (1963)

James Bond, aka British Secret Service Agent 007, is expertly portrayed by Sir Sean in this second entry into the spy films where Bond is assigned to retrieve a Russian decoding device before it falls into the hands of Soviet agents.
