Though she hasn’t been a cohost on The View since 2014, Sherri Shepherd just exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly that she “absolutely” still keeps in touch with her former costars, Joy Behar, Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg.

When asked if she continues to catch up with the ladies today, Sherri, 51, told Closer at the 15th Annual American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection 2019 fashion show in New York City on Thursday, February 7, “Absolutely! I’m having dinner with Joy tomorrow.” The star also revealed that The View‘s creator, Barbara — who has recently stepped away from the spotlight following her retirement from TV — is “doing well.”

While walking the runway at the Go Red for Women fashion show last night, Sherri looked amazing as she flaunted her recent 25-pound weight loss. “I feel great! I feel great!” the Precious star gushed of her transformation, which she achieved by cutting out sugar-filled foods and following the popular Keto diet. When asked by Closer if she’d recommend that diet to others, Sherri exclaimed, “I would recommend doing anything healthy!”

During a past exclusive interview with Closer, Sherri opened up about her time on The View and revealed that the expert career advice her cohost Barbara, 89, once gave her made her feel like she could “conquer the world.” She explained, “Barbara said to me, ‘If I didn’t think you could do this job, I wouldn’t have hired you, dear.’ And that changed everything for me.”

“Barbara was a woman who had to fight for her place with a bunch of men who didn’t want her there,” she said of the TV icon’s career. “I felt like I could conquer the world after I sat with her.”
