Star Jones Is Engaged to Ricardo Lugo

Congratulations are in order for Star Jones — she’s getting married! The 55-year-old TV personality is engaged to Ricardo Lugo, Star confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday, Oct. 23. “We’re engaged [and] not talking about it,” she joked at the Angel Ball in NYC earlier this week. “He’s wonderful. I’m happy and that’s all anybody outside of my family needs to know.”

The former The View host — she starred on the program for nine seasons from 1997 until 2006 — first went public with her artist boyfriend Ricardo at an NYC charity event in July 2016. At the time, Ricardo shared a photo of Star posing with her friend Vanessa Williams on Instagram. “Intelligent, talented, beautiful, and strong women!” he captioned the pic. How sweet!

Star’s upcoming marriage to Ricardo will be her second. She previously tied the knot with investment banker Al Reynolds on Nov. 13, 2004, but the two later divorced in 2008 after just four years of marriage. “Al was never there for Star,” a source revealed to the NY Daily News in 2008. “He hasn’t made any money in the last three years. He has been living off of her.” Following her split from Al, Star also spoke out about her failed marriage.

“Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts,” she previously told Entertainment Tonight. “I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman. We’re taking the high road, and that is all I have to say.”
