George Takei and his husband, Brad Takei, were recently spotted in a rare public appearance together.
In the images shared by Page Six on Wednesday, April 15, George, 88, appeared to lean on a cane while Brad, 72, stayed close by his side, holding onto his arm as they walked. The pair were seen exiting a building before making their way toward a waiting vehicle, with Brad continuing to assist George as he carefully stepped down and got situated.
George kept things casual in gray sweatpants, a white hoodie and a black jacket, while Brad opted for a more polished look, wearing a tan blazer over a dark shirt and slacks while carrying a folded blanket.

The couple appeared focused as they moved, with Brad helping guide George as they navigated the short walk together.
The Star Trek legend and Brad have been together since 1985, but the two kept their relationship private as George didn’t come out as gay until 2005. Three years later they became the first same-sex couple to apply for a marriage license as soon as gay marriage became legal in California in 2008.
“He keeps me laughing and he keeps me getting angry,” George told People in 2024 when asked about the secret to his and Brad’s long-lasting relationship. “I think it’s sharing these emotions.”
“Brad is a strict disciplinarian,” the actor continued, noting he “would not be who I am today” without his longtime partner. “Brad is detail-oriented, he’s organized and he brings that detail and organization to my life so that I can do what I do.”
