Family Fun! Pierce Brosnan, Whoopi Goldberg and More Celebs Who Became Grandparents at a Young Age

What’s the only thing better than being a parent? Becoming a grandparent! Many of your favorite stars, including Pierce Brosnan, Whoopi Goldberg, Priscilla Presley and more, became first-time grandpas and grandmas at surprisingly young ages.

In fact, Mamma Mia! actor Pierce welcomed his first grandchild when he was just 44 years old. And Pierce doesn’t just have one or two grandchildren today — he has three! The star’s youngest grandchild was born in 2015 when his son Sean Brosnan had a baby girl named Marley May Cassandra. “What utter joy to be her grandpa … beautiful life!” Pierce captioned a photo of his son holding baby Marley, whom Sean shares with wife Sanja Banic.

Since experiencing grandparenthood, Pierce has given a few glimpses inside his life as a doting patriarch. In October 2018, he shared a cute snapshot of himself playing with Marley, writing, “My little cowgirl Marley May” in the caption. Days later, he posted an adorable pic of the youngster smiling off into the distance. “My darling granddaughter … Marley,” he gushed.

His latest post was in November 2019, when he uploaded a snap of Marley with her father and Pierce’s other child Dylan Brosnan. “Marley, Sean and Dylan … a beautiful day with my granddaughter and my sons,” he gushed.

The Golden Globe nominee isn’t the only experienced grandparent in Hollywood, however. Priscilla also became a grandma in her early 40s when her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, gave birth to her first child, Riley Keough, in 1989.

In addition to Riley, the Naked Gun actress is the doting grandma of Lisa’s three other kids, including late grandson Benjamin Keough and granddaughters Harper Lockwood and Finley Lockwood.

For Priscilla, being a grandma is one of her biggest blessings. “It’s great, it’s absolutely great. I love it, I love it. Having [grandchildren] is quite an experience, I have to say,” she marveled to Us Weekly in November 2017.

The former wife of late rocker Elvis Presley is especially enamored by her twin granddaughters, Harper and Finley. Considering the kiddos are getting older, Priscilla “loves being the person the girls come to for questions about life,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in November 2019.

“She can’t believe how fast they’re growing and how much they know already,” the source revealed. “It goes both ways — sometimes Priscilla needs them to answer questions about her cell phone and the internet. She just loves having them around.”
