Tensions Explode Between Whoopi Goldberg & Rosie O’Donnell on Set of ‘The View’

It seems things are not going as smoothly as expected on the new season of ABC's hit talk show, The View.

According to a new report, co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell had a heated argument in front of a live audience on set last Thursday, Sept. 25 during a commercial break.

Rosie was reportedly upset that Whoopi, the show's moderator, cut her off during an on-air discussion of the day's 'Hot Topic.' Rosie was particularly offended by Whoopi's actions as she had reportedly expressed her passion for the segment's subject matter before the show.

The conversation on spanking was running too long, so producers allegedly asked Whoopi to cut off the discussion and announce there would be a commercial break. Rosie reportedly refuses to wear a similar, in-ear monitor resulting in the control room being unable to speak to her while on-air.

"As soon as they went to commercial break, Rosie took the handheld microphone that they use to engage the audience," a source revealed.

"Instead of talking to the crowd, Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mic that she 'hurt my feelings,' and that she was 'very upset by it' and 'didn't appreciate' what Whoopi had done," the source continued.

Whoopi responded by saying, "This isn't the time for this, Rosie," the source added.

Instead of moving on, the 52-year-old comedienne continued to speak openly into the microphone in front of the studio audience about what she thought was a purposeful on-air snub by Whoopi.

"Well I just don't appreciate you saying that you were going to do something and not doing it. It makes me upset and I just don't want to have to go through this," Rosie continued.

The more Rosie pushed for Whoopi to react to her statements, the more annoyed the Oscar-winning actress reportedly became. She then fired back at Rosie by saying, "F—it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don't want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I'm really sick of your
s—!"

New co-host Rosie Perez then jumped in and attempted to make light of the moment, ending the silence that had suddenly taken over the room. Producers began to prep the two ladies with notes and information for the next segment of the show. When the program returned live both the audience and co-hosts acted as if there were no tensions on set, the report stated.

This isn't the first time Rosie and Whoopi have argued behind the scenes at The View and the two have reportedly been terse with each other since the beginning of the season. Sources believe the tension may be because Rosie was hoping to return to her old role as the show's moderator and is having a hard time seeing Whoopi lead discussions instead.

To make matters worse, Whoopi has allegedly asked ABC to terminate her contract with the network (and to pay her the remaining $10 million of her salary) as she now dislikes working on the show.

While this unfortunately may not be the last argument to occur between Rosie and Whoopi this season, we do hope tensions subside and the show's new cast get's along!
