A simple message is making a big impact — and it all started with a family and a hat.

Over the past year, more and more celebrities, athletes and everyday fans have been spotted wearing hats emblazoned with the phrase “Always Be F***in’ Kind.” The eye-catching slogan has appeared everywhere from music festivals and sporting events to Hollywood gatherings, sparking conversations wherever it’s seen.

But behind the growing brand is a surprisingly heartfelt family story.

Founder Paul Emmer originally created the first hat as a gift for his father, Robert “Bob” Emmer, a longtime entertainment executive known among friends and colleagues for his positive outlook and ability to connect with just about anyone he meets.

Bob quickly became known for wearing the hat everywhere he went. Before long, strangers were approaching him to ask where they could get one of their own. What started as a personal gift soon evolved into something much bigger.

Together, Paul Emmer and his wife, Beau Emmer, co-founded Always Be F***in’ Kind, transforming a simple idea into a brand centered around a powerful belief: kindness never goes out of style.

The message appears to be resonating.

In recent months, the hats have been spotted on a growing list of recognizable faces, helping spread the brand’s mission far beyond its original circle of family and friends. The company also offers a PG-rated version featuring the phrase “Always Be Kind” for those who prefer a more family-friendly option.

For Bob, however, the appeal has never been about celebrity endorsements or social media buzz.

According to those close to the family, he simply enjoys the conversations the hats inspire. Whether he’s chatting with a stranger at a coffee shop or meeting someone for the first time at an event, the message often serves as a reminder that a small act of kindness can go a long way.

The Emmer family hopes the brand serves as more than just a fashion statement. Their goal is to encourage people to lead with compassion, create meaningful connections and spread positivity in their everyday lives.

In a world that often feels divided, the Emmers believe people are looking for something simple and positive to rally around.

And judging by the growing number of people proudly wearing the hats, that message may be catching on.

After all, kindness never goes out of style. Be sure to follow them on Instagram here!
