Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Why She Schedules Sex With Husband Henry Hager: ‘You Kind of Have To’

Jenna Bush Hager made a raunchy confession about her intimacy with her longtime husband, Henry Hager, while chatting during a candid segment on Today’s fourth hour.

The comment came during a conversation with guest cohost Olivia Munn on Today With Jenna & Friends, where they discussed a headline about Maury Povich and wife Connie Chung, who hinted that they spend romantic alone time together on Sundays.

“I feel sexiest on Sundays,” Maury, 86, said during an episode of his “On Par with Maury Povich” podcast on March 31.

“It’s always been. Everybody says, ‘Can we play golf on Sunday? Nope. Sunday is with Connie,’” the former Maury host said while engaging in playful banter with his wife.

“They hinted that Sundays for them really aren’t for rest,” Olivia, 44, said.

The clip played on Today With Jenna & Friends of the longtime couple talking about their Sundays and what they usually like to do.

“They’ve been married 40 years, and they’re still romantic and cute,” the Newsroom alum said after watching the podcast clip.

“I didn’t know that I could love either one of them more than I possibly do,” Jenna, 43, said.

Jenna and Olivia then got to talking, with the latter asking the former blatantly: “Do you schedule?” She repeated the question again and again. The very personal question left members in the studio laughing. Jenna, who has always been an open book in front of the camera, did not hesitate to answer the question about her sex life.

“Now, here’s the thing. When you have multiple children, you’ll see, sometimes you have to, like, you kind of have to,” Jenna said, referencing planning sex with her husband. “And I don’t love it, but otherwise, then it doesn’t happen the way it used to. Because there’s people everywhere pulling on you. How about you? That was a sort of … not … what’s happening?”

When she asked Olivia what her sex life was like, she did not divulge much information. The actress instead mimicked the motion of zipping her lips.

“You’re still newly-weddy,” Jenna told Olivia, referring to her recent wedding to John Mulaney. Olivia nodded her head in agreement, causing people to laugh again.

“So you’re in the phase. OK. Just call me when you’re putting on Frozen for the 14th time,” Jenna hilariously said.

“No, I’m not judging it, I’m just …” Olivia trailed off, as Jenna chimed in, saying, “Not talking.”

Jenna shares kids Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and Hal, 5, with Henry, 46, while Olivia shares kids Malcolm, 3, and Mae, 6 months, with John, 42. Jenna and Henry have been married since 2008, while Olivia recently tied the knot with the comedian in July 2024.

“I’ve been in a situation like this years ago when I was on Watch What Happens Live, and they asked me one of those …” Olivia trailed off, while Jenna asked, “Why does it always happen on Watch What Happens Live?”

“They asked me something, and I didn’t really know how to answer it, and then my ex at the time was like, ‘You’ve got to go onto Twitter and rectify it,’” Olivia revealed, describing how she tried to de-escalate the situation.
