A beloved television star from an iconic ’70s show is celebrating her 77th birthday, and fans still adore her. Lindsay Wagner starred in The Bionic Woman, and she earned an Emmy Award for her portrayal of Jaime Sommers.

Now, five decades later, Wagner is still active in the entertainment industry, continuing to inspire her fans.

Wagner first introduced the character of Sommers to television viewers via The Six Million Dollar Man. After gaining popularity on the series, Wagner headlined the spinoff show that aired for two seasons. Since then, she has continued to act and has taught acting classes, as well. She even has an appearance scheduled soon at the Mississippi Comic Con.

For Wagner’s birthday, fans are taking to social media to share sweet messages containing birthday wishes for the beloved television star.

On Facebook, one fan wrote, “Happy Birthday, dear Lindsay! Keep shining your beautiful light!!!”

In January, Wagner shared a video message via Facebook to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the premiere of The Bionic Woman.

A couple of months later, in March, Wagner shared a touching Instagram post noting it “had been a joy” working on everything related to celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Bionic Woman. She thanked fans for “all the years of support” and for sharing their own experiences with her over the years.

One fan who commented on the post wrote, “Jamie Sommers was my favorite growing up. More importantly is the kind and compassionate human being I’ve come to know. Lindsay you have a heart of gold!”

Another added, “The Bionic Woman and your portrayal of Jaime has for years been a source of comfort and inspiration to me. Even today when I’m having a rough day, I put on certain episodes and everything is ok again.”

Recently, on Reddit, another fan of Wagner and The Bionic Woman noted, “I’ve watched episodes, she still holds up so well!”

Although Wagner went on to act in many projects, 50 years after the debut of The Bionic Woman, she is still beloved by viewers for her portrayal of the iconic Jaime Sommers.
