A ’90s Teen Idol Is Joining ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 35, and Fans Are Already Rallying

Dancing with the Stars just revealed the Season 35 cast, and one former boy-bander made the list!

Known for the ultra-catchy 1997 hit “MMMBop,” new celeb contestant Taylor Hanson rose to fame as a teen heartthrob in the aptly named pop group Hanson (along with brothers Isaac Hanson and Zac Hanson).

Over his decades-long music career, the artist has millions of fans worldwide who fondly remember him from their tween and teen years. Hanson (Taylor, that is) was only 14 when “MMMBop” took the three brothers from aspiring musicians to superstars.

While they didn’t win, the boy band was nominated for three Grammy Awards in 1998, including Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Pop Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocals. The trio was also nominated for a 1997 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in a Video and won a 1997 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Song and Best New Act.

But Taylor’s music career didn’t end there. The former Hanson member joined up with Smashing Pumpkins’ alum James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, and Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger to form the Tinted Windows in 2009. The group released their one and only album, the self-titled Tinted Windows, on S-Curve Records in April of 2009.

His time in Tinted Windows ended shortly after the band began. In the years since, Taylor has continued to play music with his brothers, performed at the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala in 2026, co-founded the Hanson Brothers Beer Company, and founded Tulsa-based charity Food On The Move. Hanson is also the father of seven children with his wife, Natalie Anne Bryant.

Hanson, who is paired with DWTS pro Britt Stewart, posted a few pics of the couple on Instagram immediately after the Wednesday morning GMA announcement. Fans gushed over his reveal, commenting, “Mmmbop your way to the dance floor!”, I hope you’re prepared to make it to the finale because the Hanson fans (me included) will rally!”, “Hanson fans don’t mess around, I won’t be shocked to see you in the finale!” and “I don’t know what kind of moves our boy has without his tambourine, but I feel like you’ve got him covered! He’s a special human. I can’t wait to see y’all dance!”

The comments didn’t end there. Hanson fans piled on, adding, “Hanson fan reporting for duty. Next stop season 35 finale”, “Oh we are getting you to the finals,” and “You know what to do guys. We’ve been built for this moment!” Based on these comments, it looks like Taylor’s dedicated followers are ready for a Mirrorball win.
