The Wilson Phillips singer, 58, stepped away from her signature red hair this week, unveiling honey-blonde highlights and long extensions in a series of photos and videos posted to her Instagram on Wednesday, July 15. Carnie, who co-founded the pop trio with her sister Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips in 1989, wrote a lengthy caption explaining the change.

“I waited seven years to change my hair color!!! I love my red, but sometimes you just need a little bit of honey,” she wrote, in the caption to her Instagram post. “Thank you to my angel and ‘brother’ my Bube @combsd1 and @syndicatesalon. Special shout out to @jennaa.elias for putting my extensions in!!! I feel rejuvenated.”

The hair debut comes less than a year after a frightening hospitalization tied to Carnie’s ongoing health journey. In September 2025, she had her lap-band removed after the device began causing complications. In an Instagram post, Carnie said her blood pressure spiked and her legs swelled as a result. “It was intense, there was an ulcer in there, it doesn’t surprise me with all the stress I’ve had this year,” she shared on social media.

Now, with a fresh hair color and an outpouring of support from fans, Carnie appears to be embracing a new chapter.
