David Cassidy’s Daughter Katie Cassidy Is Engaged — See Her Stunning Ring!

It seems David Cassidy is officially getting his first son-in-law!

The musician's daughter, Katie Cassidy, just got engaged to her boyfriend, Matthew Rodgers, she announced on Monday, June 5.

"I can't wait to spend forever with you my darling!! I'm the luckiest girl in the whole world. I ❤️ YOU to the moon and back @mattyice432 Thank you for a magical evening I will forever remember," the 30-year-old actress captioned a sweet snapshot of the two kissing. We can't get over how pretty her ring is!

Matt also shared a photo of Katie's bling with the caption, "To me, you are perfect."

David previously welcomed Katie in November 1986 with his former lover, Sherry Williams. He's also a dad to a 26-year-old son, Beau, with his ex-wife, Sue Shifrin, whom he was married to from 1991 until 2006.

This big news comes three months after David revealed he's battling dementia. “I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming," the singer said in a statement at the time.

Shortly after his diagnosis, David shared he and Katie have a very estranged relationship. "I’ve never had a relationship with her," he confessed. "I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life. I’m proud of her. She’s very talented. It’s hard for me to even accept how old she is now, like 30."

Back in 2009, he opened up about how he parents his only daughter. "Because I didn’t raise her, I didn’t have to parent her," he said. "I’m always here and totally nonjudgmental."

Katie then added, "To be able to go to someone I’m genetically linked to, tell them anything and know that they’re not going to judge me — it’s unbelievable. It’s nice when your dad can be your friend."
