Things are sadly over between Halle Berry, 51, and her new boyfriend, Alex da Kid, 35. “Halle broke up with Alex smack in the middle of their romantic getaway in Bora-Bora,” an insider recently told In Touch, explaining that nearly halfway through the trip, Halle realized her five-month romance with the British music producer wasn’t working and had her assistant book her a flight home. “Halle decided he was too young and his communication skills were terrible. She said she needs someone who can think for themselves and is mature, smart and all-around adventurous.”
“The last thing Halle needs is to be in a long-term relationship with a man who doesn’t express himself well,” the source added. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the actress seemingly confirmed the news by posting an Instagram story with the text “Done with love??????” on her account. Life & Style previously reported that Halle and Alex (whose real name is Alexander Grant), “first met in Cannes, [France] in June and have been dating ever since.”

A source told the entertainment magazine that the couple initially chose to keep their romance under wraps. Instead of stepping out at events or having date nights at LA hot spots, they opted for “intimate dinners at each other’s homes.” The only exception was on June 24, when Halle and Alex were spotted at Beverly Hills restaurant Il Cielo. At the time, an onlooker said they “held hands and were whispering in each other’s ears throughout the evening.”
That sort of secrecy soon after changed, however, with the actress first flaunting her relationship at a London Fashion Week event on Sept. 18. The next day, she confirmed her relationship on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photo of the two in a cozy embrace. The mother-of-two captioned the shot, “My balance.”
After finalizing her divorce from third husband Olivier Martinez in December 2016, Halle said “she will never marry again,” the insider noted. “But I could see her changing her mind with Alex.” We’re sad to hear Halle — who is a mom to daughter Nahla, 9, and son Maceo, 4 — and Alex have now called it quits and hopes she finds love again soon!
