Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Show Off Paintings of Their Kids’ Eyes During NYC Home Tour

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos showed off their gorgeous NYC home and all of its unique decor in a new video.

The Live With Kelly and Mark cohosts showed off the interior of their Upper East Side house in a video with Architectural Digest on Tuesday, December 10. “Welcome to our favorite place on Earth,” Kelly, 54, told viewers.

The first stop on the home tour was the cigar lounge, which they described as 1970s New York City meets 1920s Paris. “This became the hangout room in the entire house, and it was initially thought of as just Mark’s space where he would go to smoke cigars,” the Emmy winner revealed.

Mark, 53, put a special ventilation system in the room to suck the cigar smoke out of the air. It’s where they watch sporting events, play games and have cocktail parties. The cigar room has a lot of Formula 1-inspired photography, and Mark described it as “the ultimate guys room.”

Mark then opened up an electric humidor with a bunch of boxes of cigars in it. “Just so you know, I’ve lived here as long as he has and I did not know that was there,” Kelly quipped.

For the primary bedroom, Kelly and Mark said that it was inspired by hotels in Europe. “I really feel at home here,” Mark said.

A lot of the stuff in their bedroom came from flea markets in Paris. Kelly loves the bedroom so much, she even wrote her book at the desk in there. In fact, she had to have her desk chair reupholstered because she wore the fabric out in the chair from sitting there so much.

Perhaps the most unique part of their home is the artwork of human eyes that was hung up in the hallway. It’s actually paintings of their kids’ eyes. Kelly and Mark share kids Michael, Lola and Joaquin, all of whom have moved out of the house.

“The artwork that we have in the hallway is from an artist named Marc Quinn,” Mark said.

“He photographs the eye, and he paints the eye, but from the inside looking out, so it’s not a print; it’s not a photograph,” Kelly explained.

“They don’t live here anymore, so when we leave our bedroom, it feels like they’re still with us,” Mark said, with Kelly adding, “I could stare at my kids’ eyes forever, I just think they’re great.”

And another interesting thing about Kelly and Mark’s home is the fact that they still share a bathroom and a closet even though all of their kids have moved out of the house.

“We’ve always shared a bathroom and a closet, and I don’t think we will ever not share a bathroom and a closet,” the mom of three confessed.

“I just feel like you and I live well together. It’s also forced us to be very diligent about what we buy, wearing what we have, not being very wasteful,” Kelly remarked. “We’ve moved several times in our lives, but no matter where we go, for me this is my forever home.”

The couple, who previously lived in a loft in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, also showed off their living room, with chic and shiny velvet sofas. During Christmas, they have the middle part of the couch removed to accommodate their Christmas tree. “This entire room becomes a Christmas room,” Kelly said.

They have a painting that Gloria Vanderbilt gave them above the fireplace in the living room. “It just means a lot. I always feel like she’s watching over us,” Kelly said.

Over in the dining room, Kelly and Mark had a lazy Susan built into the table. Behind the dining room, Mark has a little office. A beaded chandelier above the dining table is from Vienna. Moving on to the kitchen, Kelly and Mark explained why they have multiple coffee makers.

“We’re very serious about our coffee,” Mark said, to which Kelly replied, “We’re fussy coffee drinkers.”

They also have what Kelly deems a “snack closet.” She said that it’s more than a pantry.

“We come home from work, we immediately go there. We get a snack. We sit down here. We finish up whatever work we have to do for the day,” she said while pointing to the kitchen island.
