Meghan Markle Might Feng Shui Her New Frogmore Cottage Home With Prince Harry
As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gear up to move from London’s Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle this spring, it’s been revealed that the pregnant Duchess of Sussex, 37, might feng shui the couple’s new home because she once blogged about her love of the spatial arrangement art that helps improve a space’s flow of energy.
“The ancient Chinese art of feng shui has been practiced for nearly 3,000 years … With so many layers of tradition and technicality, it may seem daunting to introduce to your home aesthetic and ethos … However, the core of feng shui is about making you feel comfortable and at ease in your home so that it can translate into every aspect of your life — so fret not,” Meghan advised her readers on her now-defunct blog The Tig, according to the Daily Mail.
According to recent reports, Harry, 34, and Meghan are spending around $3.8 million to renovate Frogmore Cottage before they move into the royal residence. For starters, the property needs to be converted from five separate apartments into one big family home and since the house is so old — it was built during the 17th century! — $60,000 of the renovation budget is going towards providing heat and hot water for the abode alone.
A source recently told People that Frogmore Cottage is pretty dilapidated and will “need considerable, lengthy refurbishment.” As for why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are swapping Kensington Palace for a country home, the insider explained that the Windsor estate has “more space for children” and “has a special place in their hearts” because they got married at Queen Elizabeth‘s Windsor Castle in May 2018.
Harry and Meghan also reportedly like that Frogmore Cottage is a bit out of the spotlight and located away from the hustle and bustle of London. “It’s set in a delightful location, safe and secure — away from prying eyes — and lots of space to bring up a family,” royals expert Dickie Arbiter recently said of the couple’s new home.
