Nigella Lawson’s Life After “Mortifying” Trial: She’s Ready For Her Comeback!

Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson had a rough 2013.

She got divorced from her husband of 10 years after he was seen choking her in public and she sued her two former assistants for credit card fraud, which led to revelations of cocaine use.

But it appears that Lawson is prepared to put all of that behind her in 2014! The food writer is back on television with her competitive cooking show “The Taste” for what's sure to be a fun-filled second season.

And instead of shrinking from questions about her recent legal woes, Lawson has decided to face them head on.

The 53-year-old appeared on “Good Morning America” this week to promote "The Taste" and addressed her “mortifying” court ordeal, revealing that all she could think about when giving evidence was protecting her 2 children.

When asked about the trial, which cleared her two former assistants of any credit card fraud, Lawson said:

“To be honest, to have not only your private life but distortions of your private life put on display is mortifying, but there are people going through an awful lot worse and to dwell on any of it would be self-pity, and I don’t like to do that.”

The TV personality also admitted to not remembering much of her time on the witness stand.

“I can’t really remember exactly because you’re so focused on answering the questions to the best of your ability that actually you don’t have enormous awareness of yourself,” she said. “Maybe that’s a good thing."

And not wanting to dwell on the past, Lawson joked about her activities since the trial ended.

‘Since then I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate,” she revealed, “had a very good Christmas and I’m into the New Year.’

Though you’d never know she’d been consuming all that chocolate by looking at her!

In fact, Lawson looked so good in a recent promo for “The Taste,” that the blue figure-hugging dress that she wore completely sold out, according to fashion house Diva Catwalk, which produces it.

So not only is Lawson poised to rule the airwaves once again, but she may emerge as a new style star in 2014!
