Sarah Michelle Gellar Pens Sweet Birthday Message to Shannen Doherty: You Make Me ‘Smile a Lot More’
That’s what friends are for! We’re sure Shannen Doherty is receiving a lot of messages on her birthday, but there’s one person who of course she was expecting to hear some of the kindest words from: pal Sarah Michelle Gellar. That’s exactly what the Buffy alum did.
The 41-year-old took to her Instagram on Friday, April 12, to wish the Heathers actress a very happy 48th birthday. “Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a LOT more. Happy Birthday Shan!! I ❤️ you,” Sarah captioned numerous photos showing she and the Charmed alum enjoying each other’s company. Click here to see the pictures!
The pair are clearly quite close — they even once went on a double date, as Sarah and husband Freddie Prince Jr. spent a lovely night with Shannen and the Charmed actress’ husband, Kurt Iswarienko. “Everyone knows how much I love @sarahmgellar but do you know how much I also love @realfreddieprinze?” Shannen wrote beside a cute snap the four took.
The cancer survivor added, “Laughed all night, ate way too much food at my favorite place @felixlosangeles with the great chef @evanfunke, and obviously I love my man @kurtiswarienko. Perfect night with my closest and dearest.”
Sarah clearly goes the extra mile for her friends, as she was recently seen celebrating more than 20 years of friendship with Selma Blair at Disneyland. The Hellboy actress, who recently revealed she’s been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, was pushed around in a wheelchair by her Scooby-Doo costar.
“I can stand. I can walk. Don’t worry folks. But that uses up the whole day of energy,” the 46-year-old explained in an Instagram post after the photos of her in a wheelchair were seen. “Thank you Sarah and @jaime_king who basically saved me last week. And @reesewitherspoon who sent food for the weekend. I love you all.”
Sounds like Sarah is a great friend to have!
