After five years away from the show, pro Sharna Burgess is finally returning to Dancing with the Stars — and fans can’t wait for her Season 35 debut.
Even though she made a brief cameo in 2024 for DWTS’s 500th episode, viewers last saw Burgess as a regular cast member in 2021 on Season 30 when she was partnered with her real-life love, Brian Austin Green. While the couple only made it to 13th place, they seemed to have better luck IRL.
In June of 2022, Burgess and Green welcomed their first child together, son Zane Walker. The following year, Green popped the question, asking Burgess to marry him during his 50th birthday celebration in 2023. As of now, they have not set a wedding date.

Fast forward five years after Burgess left the competition, and she is back, vying for another chance to win the Mirrorball. The professional dancer made her big announcement early Monday morning on Good Morning America, revealing, “I’m back! Some of you guys guessed it. Yes, I’m here with a special announcement to finally confirm I’m back on Dancing with the Stars, baby.”
She continued, “I’m going to be competing for that Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. I can’t wait to be back in the ballroom with my dancing family, and mostly it feels so good to be coming home. I’ll see you all soon.”
When GMA shared a clip of Burgess’s comeback message on Instagram, fans flocked to the post, buzzing about the announcement.
“Finally! The queen is back,” gushed one commenter.
Others joined in, adding, “Love Sharna! So excited she is back!”, “Goosebumps! My girl is back! Yes!”, “Yay! I have missed her as she is one of my favs,” and “All is right in the world.”
In a separate Instagram post, featuring a quick video clip on Burgess in a sultry sequined and feathered number, DWTS teased, “A little birdie told us an absolute firecracker is back in the ballroom.” Fans also jumped on this share, replying, “About time! Now just give her a good partner to make it to the finale!” and “I could cry.”
Viewers aren’t the only Burgess fans who are over-the-top excited about the pro’s return. One famous friend, fellow Dancing with the Stars alum Petra Murgatroyd, also responded, “My girlllll is back!!!”
If you’re wondering who DWTS will pair the pro with, you’ll have to wait. ABC won’t reveal the official lineup until September 2.
