The Dangerous ‘Days of our Lives’ Plot That Changed Everything for Holly Jonas

Days of our Lives’ Holly (Ashley Puzemis) has been adamant that she is not using any sort of narcotic drug and her boyfriend, Tate (Leo Howard), is even more adamant. Holly’s history won’t allow her to do such a foolish thing, as alluded to in recent episodes.

Holly Almost Became a Casualty

When a SORAS’d Holly was introduced to the Salem scene three years ago, fans learned that she was a rebellious teen who had a penchant for smoking marijuana and popping pills she was able to buy outside school. Tate took an immediate liking to Holly, who already had a crush on Johnny (Carson Boatman), and tried to warn her off the drugs. He had grown up with a drug addict mother and alcoholic father and knew the toll that addiction can take after watching his parents constantly struggle to stay clean.

After Holly finally got over her crush on Johnny, who only had eyes for Chanel, (Raven Bowens) she gave Tate a chance and agreed to go on a New Year’s Eve date with him at The Bistro. When the evening began, she showed Tate some pills she had scored, but Tate refused to take any. Holly did and that was when her life changed forever.

Holly didn’t know she had taken pills tainted with fentanyl, a part of the drug operation that Clyde Weston (James Read) forced Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) to run through The Bistro. Holly ended up in a months-long coma after suffering a seizure and nearly dying, a moment Tate mentioned after Holly collapsed on Smith Island.

Now, traces of Coriseal have been found in Holly’s bloodstream, but she insists she hasn’t taken anything illegal and never would after spending much of her junior year of high school in a coma. Between nearly dying and Sophia drugging her earlier this year, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) knows her niece is telling the truth.
