Valentin must choose between Carly and Anna as the ‘General Hospital’ love triangle heats up with surprising reunions and shifting loyalties.
It’s been smooth sailing (minus some bullets flying) for unexpected General Hospital lovebirds Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) so far, but they have been living a fantasy life in her attic for six months, keeping their relationship a secret from all.
Plus, the woman Valentin had pined for since his youth had been locked away in a French mental institution, so Carly’s competition was out of sight, mostly out of mind. However, now she is back in Port Charles, Valentin is no longer a fugitive, and Anna is primed to give Carly a run for her money. How did they get here and where will it all lead?
Valentin in the Middle
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin had made peace with the status of their relationship in 2025 when the WSB arrested the wayward Cassadine and hauled him off to international prison. They would always love one another, but realized they were never meant to be together. Valentin had carried a torch for Anna for decades, so this was a big realization.
By the time he escaped from prison and turned up at Carly’s house by the end of the year, needing a place to hide, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) had kidnapped Anna and was busy trying to drive her insane in the Wyndemere sub-basement. All of Port Charles believed that Anna was away on a secret WSB mission, and Valentin bought that explanation while he proceeded to fall for Carly.
Carly noted Valentin’s feelings for Anna multiple times during their time hiding out at her house, but she never had to face those feelings with Anna around. This week, the triangle truly gets started in earnest as Valentin reunites with Anna at her apartment, while appearing to still be living with Carly. Carly will be caught off guard by the news that Anna is back, but Valentin is set to make his feelings very clear by the end of the week?
Will Anna’s presence cause Valentin to re-think his relationship with Carly or is he really ready to move on from Anna Devane for the first time in his life?
