In photos obtained by Closer, Chevy, 82, is being pushed in a wheelchair by his assistant. The National Lampoon’s Vacation star was attending a screening for the documentary, I’m Chevy Chase And You’re Not, on the evening of Thursday, February 26, at the Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Chevy wore jeans that he paired with a pink button-down and a beige blazer. He complemented his look with a tan baseball cap and his usual eyeglasses. Once inside, the outlet reported that the longtime comedian was standing and walking on his own without any help. At one point, he leaned over and kissed Jayni, 68, as the two sat side by side, per the Daily Mail.

Jayni donned a colorful floral dress that she wore with a cream colored wrap around her shoulders.
The couple’s eldest daughter, Cydney Chase, 43, also attended the event and posed for photos with her parents.
Chevy and Jayni first tied the knot in June 1982, and over the next several years, they welcomed three daughters. Cydney was born in January 1983, followed by Caley in 1985, and Emily in 1988.
The former Community star made headlines recently when fans reacted to footage from the CNN documentary. In a clip that circulated online, director Marina Zenovich told Chevy that she was “trying to figure him out” just a few minutes into the film.
“No s**t,” Chevy snapped. “It’s not going to be easy for you.”

When Zenovich asked why it wouldn’t be easy, Chevy replied, “You’re not bright enough. How’s that?”
The Fletch star has long been known for his prickly behavior on set. He famously got into an altercation with fellow SNL star Bill Murray in John Belushi’s dressing room in 1978.
“Billy Murray and I came to fisticuffs, but we never really ended up hitting each other,” Chevy told Esquire in 2010. “We tried, but Belushi got in the middle and we both ended up hitting John. And if anybody deserved to be slapped in the forehead it was John, for instigating it all.”
He was later fired from Community after allegedly using the N-word during a rant in 2012. The Hollywood Reporter reported at the time that the slur was “not directed” at costars Donald Glover and Yvette Nicole Brown, who are Black.
In the documentary, director Jay Chandrasekhar said Chase had “full meltdown” after the incident, per People, declaring “My career is ruined!”
