Craig Melvin Shows Off Family’s Epic Halloween Costumes in New Photos After ‘Today’ Show Extravaganza
Craig Melvin and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, pulled out all the stops with their Halloween costumes this year!
Craig, 45, showed off his Gomez Addams Halloween costume in an Instagram post shared on Friday, November 1. He wore a fake mustache and posed with a cigar in his mouth in the photo, while donning Gomez’s signature suit.
Lindsay, 46, dressed as Morticia Addams in a black wig and black dress, while their daughter, Sybil, dressed as Wednesday Addams. Her costume included Thing from The Addams Family on her shoulder to complete the look.
But there was one member of the family who decided to go with a different theme for his costume this year — their son, Delano. He dressed as a Stormtrooper from Star Wars for the fun night.
“Halloween 2024. The Adams family. A Stormtrooper. Myles, the dog, not in costume but quite confused,” Craig wrote alongside the photo.
Fans were quick to comment on the picture, praising Delano, 10, for wearing the costume of his choosing.
“I love that your son was like nope, not gonna do it, nope, nope, nope,” one person wrote in a comment on the post.
“The crossover we never knew we needed,” another person said.
Another person wrote, “Two different mustaches in a day! Impressive!”
Lindsay also posted photos from the Halloween festivities over on her Instagram page. The family enjoyed a pizza dinner while dressed in their costumes.
“Happy Halloween from 3/4 of the Addams Family, a storm trooper and a pup… and the handsy accessory that makes even the simplest acts like eating pizza strangely entertaining #halloween #family #costumes #dogs #addamsfamily #starwars,” she captioned the carousel of photos.
The latter fan comment was in reference to earlier in the day, when Craig transformed into Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop as part of Today’s Halloween celebration on the plaza. As part of a skit, Craig pulled up to the show in a 1972 Chevy Nova, paying homage to the film. He totally nailed it as the iconic character!
The theme for the Today costumes this year was “VHS Rewind,” which saw Craig’s colleagues Al Roker dressed as Beetlejuice, Hoda Kotb dressed as Jack Dawson from Titanic, Savannah Guthrie dressed as Elle Woods From Legally Blonde, Peter Alexander dressed as Mrs.Doubtfire, Dylan Dreyer dressed as Lydia Deetz, Willie Geist dressed as Ron Burgundy, Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones dressed as Austin Powers and Foxxy Cleopatra from Goldmember, Laura Jarrett as Isis from Bring It On and Jenna Bush Hager dressed as Rose DeWitt Bukater.
Fans particularly loved Peter’s Mrs.Doubtfire costume, praising him for committing to the bit. “He’s absolutely perfect. Nailed it,” one person commented on Today’s Instagram page underneath a post showing off Peter’s costume, while another said, “I think the late great Robin Williams would approve your costume.”
While on the plaza for the celebration, the hosts answered fan questions about their Halloween traditions, their favorite candy and whether or not they like going into haunted houses.
