Heather Locklear and Lorenzo Lamas Have Fans Swooning After Revealing What Sparked Their Romance 40 Years After They Met

Lovebirds Heather Locklear and Lorenzo Lamas appear to be getting more serious by the day now that they have gone public with their romance. The pair was spotted at the airport in Los Angeles this week, and he shared a sweet tidbit about their reconnection that has fans gushing.
In a brief chat with Entertainment Tonight, shared on July 13, Lamas and Locklear were asked what had happened that prompted their romance, given they first met 40 years ago.
Locklear simply shrugged her shoulders before Lamas replied, “The universe happened.”
The couple was also asked, “Who made the first move?” Lamas revealed, “I guess the promoter that booked us on the same event.”
On Facebook, one fan of the couple commented, “The dynasty Melrose and falcon crest crossover the world needs.”
Another declared, “My 80s child is beaming.”
The annual World’s Largest Disco event, held in Buffalo, New York, every November, is the place where the pair crossed paths again.
Someone else added, “I’m happy for them both. Heather looks fab, maybe she just needed the right guy?! Both look great and happy.”
The event is a fundraiser that began in 1979, where the money raised goes to support Camp Good Days and Special Times, which supports children with cancer.
Just weeks after appearing at the fundraiser, Locklear and Lamas quietly spent New Year’s Eve together in Las Vegas, noted TMZ. In addition, People confirmed the pair’s romance in April. Then, in May, his daughter, Shayne Lamas, gushed over Locklear in a Mother’s Day post on social media.
Locklear has been married twice before, to Richie Sambora and Tommy Lee. Lamas has been married six times previously, most recently marrying Kenna Nicole Scott in October 2023. He filed for divorce from her in July 2025.
Recently, Lamas filed new legal paperwork related to his divorce from Scott, in which he is seeking a default judgment. TMZ reported that the judge signed off on Lamas’ request to speed up the divorce, which puts him one step closer to being all-in with Locklear.
