Hospital Officially Prepares for the Birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Third Baby — Get the Details!

Royal baby No. 3 will be here any day now, so it seems! The hospital where pregnant Kate Middleton is expected to welcome her third child is busy preparing for flag-bearing crowds and television crews that will come when Kate pops with everything from parking restrictions to security barriers now in place. The “no parking” sign says parking is suspended from Monday, April 9 to Monday, April 30, for an “event.”

The first hint from the hospital came about in late March right next to the same steps outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London where Kate and her husband, Prince William, first made their debuts with Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2, who were also born there as well. It’s also the same place where Princess Diana and Prince Charles previously debuted William and Prince Harry.

On the railings next to the entrance there was a sign that said “wet paint.” Many royal fans speculated that the sign could mean that the hospital wants people to stay away from the area where Kate is expected to deliver her third baby. Others thought maybe they just want the area to look nice so they revamped the railings for the new for the photos she and Will will be taking.

However, it’s unclear if Kate will even show up at the hospital for her April due date. A source recently told Life & Style that the Duchess of Cambridge wants a home birth. “She’s decided she’d like to give birth at Kensington Palace, in the comfort of her own home,” the insider shared. If she does welcome baby No. 3 at the hospital, though, the Queen’s surgeon-gynaecologist, Alan Farthing, will lead the delivery and Guy Thorpe-Beeston will accompany (this is the same team that helped with George and Charlotte).

Regardless of where the royal couple welcomes their little prince or princess (they still don’t know the third baby’s gender), they’re officially ready to expand their family. Kate made her last public appearance before going on maternity leave in late March and sources have told Closer Weekly exclusively that the entire family (and all of England for that matter!) can’t wait for the bundle of joy to arrive.

“The royal baby is boosting the mood of the whole country,” royal expert James McCourt shared. “[Queen Elizabeth] can’t stop talking about the arrival of her new great-grandchild, and Buckingham Palace is buzzing.” We’re counting down the days!
