He’s been teasing a Frasier reboot for a little while now, and Kelsey Grammer recently dished more details on the possibility of fans getting a revival all these years later. While making an appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Friday, March 15, the beloved actor opened up about the show’s potential future.

“Well, my hope is that we can bring it back, [but] we’re sort of shopping for the right idea,” the 64-year-old admitted to the show’s host. Kelsey then shared that executive producers are willing to go forward, but they don’t have any offers. “We hope somebody wants to buy the cheque, but no one has come up to us yet.”

The star added, “Will & Grace have done a continuation now, and it’s basically the next day from when they were last on air, and I don’t think that’s appropriate for Frasier.”

A Frazier revival has been the talk of the town for the past few months, but Kelsey first put fans at the edge of their seats when he told reporters last August that they were waiting for “a pitch that hits it out of the park.” Most of the cast stayed tight-lipped up until then, but ever since Kelsey mentioned word of a possible reboot, fans have been dying to know more.

In February, the father-of-seven revealed that they may have received the pitch that they were waiting for. “We actually are talking to a few writers and discussing the options and where we might think it would be appropriate to put it. So there’s some movement; we’ll see what happens,” the Golden Globe winner told Us Weekly at Steven Tyler’s Grammy Awards Viewing Party.

While excited, Kelsey is in no rush considering he’s had his hands full lately with Fox’s newest legal drama Proven Innocent, which premiered in mid-February. “I just want to make sure it’s really good,” he said, adding that fans should expect a “third act” of sorts.

The famed actor even dished details about what fans could expect. “Some of the folks — probably most of the folks who were on the original show — would be back, but we’re someplace else. Something has happened,” Kelsey said to the outlet. “We’re not going to pick up where we left off.” How exciting!
