Though it's been nearly six years since Micheál Neeson's mother, Natasha Richardson, tragically died in a skiing accident, the 19-year-old admits he's still struggling to accept her passing.
In a new interview, Micheál — who's the son of actor Liam Neeson — confessed the hard-partying and drugs he turned to following his mother's death led him to 'hit rock bottom' and check himself into rehab last year.

"I was going out, partying a lot, looking for self-gratification. I wanted to be the man, doing these drugs," he said.
"Everybody said, 'This kid has lost his mum, that's where the problem comes from.' And I was like, 'No, it isn't, I just like to party.' But looking back, I realize it was a delayed reaction," he told 'The Sunday Times.'

Though Micheál — who has a younger brother, Daniel, 18 — credits his father for helping him get back on track after this troubled time, he maintained not having a mother figure "definitely set the balance of the family off" during his upbringing.

His mother, Natasha, was just 45-years-old when she sustained a head injury while taking a beginner ski lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Canada on March 16, 2009. Two days later, the actress — who married Liam, 62, in 1994 — passed away from the accidental blunt impact to her brain.
Since completing rehab in 2014, Micheál has found work as a fashion gallery curator in NYC.
