It seems Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing a small bump in the road before welcoming their first baby this spring. According to a new report, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been forced to delay their move from London’s Kensington Palace to Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage due to a timeline snag with their new home’s extensive renovations.

It was previously reported that Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, would have ample time to settle into their country house before the former Suits star gives birth in late April or early May but now, the UK’s The Sun newspaper is reporting that last-minute design changes to the property have pushed back the royal couple’s move-in date to perhaps just a few days before Baby Sussex arrives.

“It’s been all hands to the pump. The builders have worked all week whatever the weather. But they keep making changes, particularly on the layout,” a source told the outlet. “The word is they’ve been quite demanding, which is understandable as what homeowner doesn’t want their house to be perfect?”

It was previously reported that Harry and Meghan are spending around $3.8 million to renovate their new home to include five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a huge, updated kitchen. “Given the scale of the project, a three or four-week delay isn’t too bad. The couple [is] pleased with how it’s all going,” the insider told The Sun.

As for why the duke and duchess decided to leave Kensington Palace behind for life in the countryside, royals expert Dickie Arbiter revealed in a past interview that Frogmore Cottage is “set in a delightful location, safe and secure — away from prying eyes — and lots of space to bring up a family.”

“They could’ve easily remained at Kensington Palace [with Prince William, Kate Middleton and their family] and moved into a bigger pad,” another royals insider claimed. “But at Frogmore, they’ll have more freedom.” Hopefully, Harry and Meghan’s big move — and royal baby! — comes sooner than soon because we can’t wait!
