After more than 50 years in the public eye, former supermodel Jerry Hall, 69, is still turning heads. The ex-wife of the Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and former Vogue cover star opened up about aging in a new interview with British Vogue.
Hall is about to celebrate her 70th birthday, but she doesn’t feel nearly 70. “My grandmother, when she was in her 70s, she had grey hair, she was a bit fat — a lovely old granny,” Hall recalled. She, however, is not that type of grandmother.
She doesn’t feel nearly 70, or look it. Hall explained that as she ages, she has no interest in going to extreme measures to stay looking young.
“What’s wrong with wrinkles? I have loads of wrinkles, but I don’t mind. I’m 70, I should have wrinkles,” Hall pointed out.
The iconic supermodel revealed some of her secrets to aging. Hall doesn’t eat dessert, doesn’t do fillers or Botox, doesn’t go to the gym, and avoids doctors. What she does get a lot of, she told British Vogue, is sleep, water, and gardening.
Hall loves to write poetry and paint, and enjoys her casual summers. “I get an Italian cook all summer. Otherwise, it’s too much work, I can’t hang out with the girls drinking rosé,” she explained.

Hall dismisses the concept of being “age-appropriate,” insisting she wants no part of an “older lady” fashion line that’s “all beige” with ugly shoes accompanying the pieces.
I’m very lucky I didn’t lose my figure,” Hall acknowledges. She adds, “So I think I should be able to wear anything.”
Hall has maintained her iconic long, blonde hair, too. “There’s this thing — you get old and you have to cut your hair short and have this short blue-grey hair. I think it’s a hideous look. I think you shouldn’t do it, no matter what the magazines say,” she shared.
Her attitude towards life helps keep her young, too. “I luckily have the kind of mind that can’t remember anything bad. I just remember the good things…I say to myself: ‘I’m going to be happy today, I’m going to fill my life with joy,’ and it comes true.”
In looking back and considering regrets, Hall states, “I must say I wouldn’t want to change a thing. I’ve been very lucky.” She added, “Life is quite hard and short. You should have as much fun as you can.”
More than five decades after gaining worldwide recognition as a supermodel, Hall is embracing aging her way. Ahead of her 70th birthday, the ex of Rolling Stone superstar Jagger focuses on staying positive and active, and it shows.
