In this week's Closer, Trisha Yearwood opens up about her marriage to Garth Brooks, her first date with the country singer and how they've used laughter over the years to make their connection stronger.
“It’s nice to be married to your best friend,” Trisha dishes, sharing that they spent their first date eating pizza and playing video games. “I’m with who I’m supposed to be with.”
She goes on to reveal, “We laugh a lot. We have a twisted sense of humor.” This shared laughter may be the key to their happy marriage, and the fact that she finds Garth totally irresistible is a happy bonus. “He’s the hottest thing on the planet!” she gushes.
Dating since late 2000, Garth proposed to Trisha during a concert in front of 7,000 people in May of 2005. She enthusiastically accepted and they married on Dec. 10, 2005 in a small ceremony at their ranch in Owasso, Okla.
