AC/DC band member Stevie Young was hospitalized “out of an abundance of caution” after he landed in Argentina for the next stop on the band’s Power Up world tour.
Young, 69, reportedly was “not feeling well” when he landed in Buenos Aires and was quickly taken to the hospital to assess what was wrong, according to a story published by People on Friday, March 20. A spokesperson for the guitarist told the outlet that he is “doing well and in good spirits” after “undergoing a battery of tests” to determine what was wrong.
The spokesperson didn’t elaborate on what, if anything, the tests uncovered and downplayed his hospital admittance as simply being done “out of an abundance of caution” for the rocker’s safety.

“He is looking forward to getting on stage on Monday,” the statement read, meaning he won’t be missing a show. The outlet notes the band hit the road back in 2024 to tour its 2020 album of the same name. The record marks AC/DC’s first since the death of founding member Malcolm Young back in 2017.
Stevie, Malcolm’s nephew, joined the band in 2014 after his uncle decided to retire as a result of a dementia diagnosis. He died three years later at age 64 from the disease. Filling in for his uncle wasn’t difficult, as he’d played with the band a lot over the previous years, including joining them on their 1988 tour.
