The official Blue Bloods Instagram account is showing signs of life four months after the show was canceled by CBS. On Sunday, April 20, a clip from an episode of the show featuring Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan’s characters, Danny Reagan and Erin Reagan, was shared on the account, prompting pleas from die-hard fans.

The comments on the post were full of fans who were still sad that the show ended after its shocking season 14 series finale, urging the network to bring the show back.

“Very dumb idea to get rid of the this show,” one person wrote in a comment underneath the post.

The comment prompted another fan to agree, saying, “It was the last of its kind from a generation ago when shows were well written with a message in each episode.”

Another person pointed out that Tom Selleck, Len Cariou and several other cast members publicly expressed that they were hoping the show would continue and were shocked by its ending.

“One of the best TV shows , such a crazy idea to cancel it. I miss watching Blue Bloods family,” another said.

“Should never of sacked this show….but don’t fret there are still multiple NCIS and FBI shows that aren’t nearly as good and suck compared to BB to pass the time,” another person remarked.

“I’ve rewatched all seasons so many times and just watched this episode last night. I miss this show so much. It was the biggest mistake cancelling Blue Bloods!!” someone else said.

“The BEST show. I miss it!!! I know I can watch the reruns but I so looked forward to the new episodes on Friday’s,” another comment on the post read.

“Bring back Blue bloods!!!” another fan urged, while another said, “It’s not too late to put the Blue Bloods back.”

Another simply said, “Bring it back.”

Others pointed out that while Blue Bloods is over, a new era is about to begin. Boston Blue, an offshoot starring Donnie, 55, will be debuting on CBS in the fall.

“Miss Blue Bloods. but so looking forward to Boston Blue,” someone said in a comment.

“Love this show so much. CBS made a BIG mistake! Looking forward to Boston Blue, though,” another commenter said while looking ahead.

So far, a teaser trailer for Boston Blue has been released, as well as a short synopsis describing what the series expansion will be about.

“In BOSTON BLUE, a universe expansion of the long-running top drama BLUE BLOODS, Wahlberg will reprise his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD,” a CBS press release revealed. “Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.”

In a March 25 Instagram post, Donnie reflected on the opportunity to continue Danny’s story in a new city.

“So excited to carry on the tradition, to share so many surprises, to answer some unanswered questions and to welcome all of you — to #BostonBlue! The next chapter in the #BlueBloods legacy begins. I can’t wait. See you CBS fall!” he wrote on Instagram alongside the teaser trailer.
