Eve Plumb may have grown up in one of television’s most famous families, but behind the scenes, it was her real-life parents who helped keep her feet firmly on the ground.
The 68-year-old, known to millions as Jan Brady on The Brady Bunch, has opened up about life as a child actor in her new book Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond.
And promoting the memoir on Fox News on May 3, the actor explained how her parents, Flora and Neely Plumb, played a major role in helping her navigate childhood fame without losing herself along the way.

“I think that the power to say no is very valuable as an actor,” Eve said. “And as a person, we always talk about setting boundaries. And my parents always made sure that I had time off and that I did the right things. You don’t have to say yes to everything. And I am still that way today.”
Last month as reported by Closer, she admitted that one of her iconic lines from the show “bothered” her, and followed her round afterwards in a negative way.
However she insisted in an interview with CBS that she honoured how many people took the character into their hearts and spoke so warmly about her.
