Martha Stewart Jokes About Dating At Age 77: ‘Men Are Just Lined Up At The Door’

Don’t go looking for Martha Stewart on Tinder. The 77-year-old lifestyle expert recently admitted she hasn’t tried the popular dating app, after finding her much-publicized dalliance with Match.com “brutal” and “awful” because “the algorithm didn’t fit me.”

Besides, Martha recently joked to the Daily Mail that without the assistance of any kind of technology, “Men are just lined up at the door.” She’s been single since her marriage to lawyer and publisher Andrew Stewart (father of her daughter, Alexis, 53) ended in 1990, and these days she prefers to keep her love life “simple and fun.”

Currently working on her 91st book, The Martha Manual: How to Do (Almost) Everything — due in January — she says she’s willing to cook for a man on a first date, but only if she’s met him before. She’s also game to go horseback riding with a beau. “We have lots of trails in Bedford,” she said of her New York hometown. “So it’s a very pleasant place to go out on a long trail ride.”

Martha might not have time for a serious relationship, even if she were looking for one. She’s busy taping the third season of the VH1 hit Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party with rapper Snoop Dogg as well as her new gig as a judge on Chopped.

“It’s a fun but very long day, from seven in the morning until almost seven at night,” she says of shooting the Food Network competition show. “But it’s not so long for us because we’re sitting and drinking and having a tasting. Those poor, poor chefs performing are the ones who are really sweating it out.”

For Martha, it’s all about living in the moment. “I don’t think about tomorrow — I think about what I’m going to do today,” she says. “I mean, I have plans for tomorrow, but if I thought about it I’d go crazy because there’s so much to do still.”

“Retirement” is not in Martha’s vocabulary. “Not me — I’m not that kind of person,” she says. “My mom worked till she was 93. She was still babysitting, and she was the most popular babysitter in her town.” And that’s a good thing.
