Sally Jessy Raphael honored her late husband, Karl Soderlund, in a touching birthday tribute.
“Happy Birthday Karl… love you & miss you everyday,” Raphael, 91, wrote alongside a photo of the two of them together that she shared via X on Thursday, March 12.
Soderlund and the former daytime talk show host married in 1962 and were together for 57 years. He died in 2020 at the age of 90 due to complications from Alzheimer’s.
In May of last year, Raphael opened up about her dating life since Soderlund’s death.

“I’ve settled on somebody,” she told People at the time. “But there are a lot of men out there. The women who say they aren’t interested in a man as they get older, they like their freedom. I think they’re lying. I think it’s because they don’t want to make the effort. It does take an effort to find someone.”
The mom of three also revealed that she still craved intimacy at her age.
“When you’re 90, [people] don’t think that you have sex. I guess most people don’t think that a person 90 would have sex, but they believe that,” Raphael explained. “It’s like I saw that ‘Doctor Odyssey’ thing on cougars. Cougars are always 50- to a 30-year-old, 50 woman, 30 man. When you’re a 90 woman to a 70 man, then you’re not a cougar. You’re a lion, I guess.”
Raphael rose to fame with her talk show, The Sally Jessy Raphael Show, which ran for almost two decades before airing its final show in 2002.
