The wait is almost over for The Gilded Age season 3! The historical drama’s next installment will be full of surprises, ornate outfits and big reveals. Closer shares what to expect from the new season.
What Will ‘The Gilded Age’ Season 3 Be About?
The lengthy logline for season 3 of the hit HBO series promises romance, risks and rewards.
“The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when empires were built, but no victory came without sacrifice,” a press release featuring the official season 3 logline said. “Following the Opera War, the old guard is weakened and the Russells stand poised to take their place at the head of society. Bertha sets her sights on a prize that would elevate the family to unimaginable heights while George risks everything on a gambit that could revolutionize the railroad industry — if it doesn’t ruin him first.”
“Across the street, the Brook household is thrown into chaos as Agnes refuses to accept Ada’s new position as lady of the house,” the press release continued. “Peggy meets a handsome doctor from Newport whose family is less than enthusiastic about her career. As all of New York hastens toward the future, their ambition may come at the cost of what they truly hold dear.”
In photos from the season released ahead of the premiere, Larry Russell was seen kissing Marion Brook on the hand, perhaps hinting that their relationship will take flight in season 3 after they kissed in season 2. Another photo showed Peggy Scott spending time with Jordan Donica’s character, Dr. William Kirland. Another shot showed Larry, Bertha and George Russell standing in what looked to be a church in front of a large floral arrangement. Bertha looked rather shocked in the photo, giving fans the hunch that something big will be happening.
