Hallmark debuts another new movie on Saturday, August 28, as part of its “Fall Into Love” autumn series. Two fan-favorite network stars lead the new movie Much About Love, and this one has a touch of Shakespeare incorporated. Ashley Williams and Niall Matter play Bea Bishop and Benny Gersten, and the network teases that this new movie is a “modern retelling of Much Ado About Nothing.”
Williams, who has previously starred in numerous Hallmark projects including the Sister Swap movies, plays a television director with a background in the theater. While attending a Shakespeare festival, Bea runs into Benny, an old flame. Hallmark fans will remember Matter from other projects such as the Aurora Teagarden movies, as well as the Finding Father Christmas movies.
Throughout Much About Love, viewers will see Bea and Benny “rekindling a merry war of wits.”
A preview for Much About Love reveals that years ago, Bea and Benny played Romeo and Juliet in a local Shakespeare production. Bea says that at the time, it felt as if they were “meant to be.”
During one part of the sneak peek, Benny says, “This can become a love story that everybody relates to.”

According to Moviedelic, Much About Love was filmed in Ontario, Canada, and the cast and crew filmed from late April until mid-May. At the time, the working title of the film was Nothing But Love.
Much of the movie was filmed in southwestern Ontario, near the city of London. The Elsie Perrin Williams Estate was transformed into the main offices for the Shakespeare festival. In addition, a couple of local restaurants, Chaucer’s Pub and Marienbad Restaurant, became what viewers will see as Ye Olde King’s Tavern in the movie.
Moviedelic added that the Grosvenor Lodge was also used for filming, transformed into the Costume Shops. The Covent Garden Market, Gibbons Park, and Storybook Gardens were also utilized for various parts of the Hallmark movie.
Williams was also an executive producer on Much About Love. The project allowed her to reunite with her Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater co-star, Matter. She told People, “The introduction of Niall Matter is critical for the success of any movie. I had been imagining Niall saying all of the lines for literally years.
She added, “Once the words started coming out of his mouth at rapid-fire pace, it was like, ‘Here we go. Now we’re in the pocket.”
“It’s hard for me to find a costar who talks as fast as I do, but Niall Matter does,” she joked.
Much About Love premieres on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, August 28 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. It will become available on the streaming service Hallmark+ beginning on August 29.
