Bryan Cranston Would Do A ‘Breaking Bad’ Movie ‘In A Second’

His movie The Upside may be out right now, but the only film that Bryan Cranston is thinking about is a potential Breaking Bad one.

The 62-year-old recently revealed on Sirius XM’s “Entertainment Weekly Radio” that he is all but ready to dive back into his Walter White character. “From a realistic standpoint, if I got called to do the movie or Better Call Saul which I don’t know would ever happen — I really don’t — I would do it in a second,” the Oscar nominated actor said. He continued, “Because you know, my experience on Breaking Bad changed my life and my professional life. It gave me opportunities that would not have come.” Bryan once again added that he would do the film “in a second.”

And while the actor is all about a film to one of the greatest shows ever made, he would not be on board for a reboot of the show. “I wouldn’t do it because it had — to me — it was such a perfect beginning, middle and end. To open that up again I think would lessen what we did before,” he said.

In the AMC show, Bryan played a high school chemistry teacher who learns that he has terminal cancer, and who soon begins to sell meth. In The Upside, the Malcolm in the Middle alum plays a paralyzed billionaire. Bryan recently had to defend the role from folks who said a real disabled actor should have played the character instead.

“We live in the world of criticism,” Bryan recently told reporters at the British Press Association. “If we’re willing to get up and try something, we have to also be willing to take criticism. We’re very aware of the need to expand the opportunities for people with disabilities.” He added, “As actors, we’re asked to be other people, to play other people. If I, as a straight, older person, and I’m wealthy, I’m very fortunate, does that mean I can’t play a person who is not wealthy, does that mean I can’t play a homosexual? I don’t know. Where does the restriction apply? Where is the line for that? I think it is worthy for debate to discuss those issues.”

Well we know one thing for sure, no one would be upset at a Breaking Bad film. And hey, if The Sopranos are getting a movie, why can’t this iconic show get one?
