The Brady Bunch fans may be surprised to learn there was almost an offscreen romance between two of its stars.
In her upcoming memoir, Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond, per Entertainment Weekly, Eve Plumb, 67, opens up about an enjoyable but ultimately unsuccessful date with her former TV brother, Christopher Knight, 68, after the show ended in 1974.
“It was sweet. It was fun but we were really already by that time just too good of friends to make that transition into being romantic partners,” Plumb recalled in the tome, per the outlet. However, she admitted the connection never quite clicked romantically.
As Plumb tells it, the pair — who played Jan and Peter Brady — decided to explore their chemistry after spending years portraying siblings on the beloved ABC sitcom. However, the transition proved too awkward.

“Any attempts at making out that evening ended with laughter and resignation that we’d always be sister and brother, even in real life,” she wrote.
In the end, their strong friendship won out.
“We were really already by that time just too good of friends to make that transition into romantic partners,” she explained.
Today, both stars have moved on — Plumb has been married to Ken Pace since 1995, while Knight wed Cara Kokenes in 2016. The two have remained close and even keep in touch with regular Zoom calls alongside their spouses.
