Inside Julia Roberts’ Move Away From Hollywood to Focus on Family

In the new issue of Closer Weekly, sources reveal that Julia Roberts is making a bold move to heal her 13-year marriage to Danny Moder and bring their family closer together.

An insider exclusively reveals to Closer Weekly that the mother of three has made a drastic decision to relocate her family from Malibu, Calif. to Santa Barbara, Calif.

The reason? According to the insider, the move is an attempt to keep Danny more focused on their home life. “They are great and loving parents but can’t get past Danny’s overriding need to work,” says an insider.

Missing out on family time and important events — especially her sister Lisa’s recent NYC birthday — has left the Pretty Woman star heartbroken. “After two really tough years of turmoil and loss for them all” — including her sister’s suicide last year — “she really wanted Danny to be there to celebrate a happy occasion. But he told her that he couldn’t pass on this job and that the timing was just bad.”

“[She] tells Danny time after time that he doesn’t have to work,” says the insider, however “it’s incredibly important to him not to be Mr. Mom or even worse, Mr. Julia Roberts."

Still, Julia hopes the move to Santa Barbara, Calif. will be healing for her family. “She hopes Danny will be less inclined to take new jobs because it would be less convenient for him to travel back and forth,” explains the insider.

“Her dream is that she can continue to scale back on her film projects and that Danny will follow suit as they adjust to a life away from show business.”
