Val Kilmer Admits He’s “Healing From Cancer” After Co-Star Michael Douglas Tells the Public

After much speculation, Val Kilmer has confirmed that he is recovering from cancer.

Rumors about Val's diagnosis began to spread in October 2016 when the actor's friend Michael Douglas claimed his The Ghost and the Darkness costar had oral cancer.

"Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him," he confessed during a Q&A in London at the time. "My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately."

During a recent Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Val opened up about the incident that happened a few months ago after a fan asked him about Michael's statement. "He was probably trying to help me 'cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho healing all the time," Val responded. "Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather."

Michael courageously beat stage four oral cancer back in 2013, but up until a few days ago, Val has been denying rumors of his health issues for years. However, the Top Gun star was once spotted with what looked like a tracheostomy tube around his neck and has kept his neck covered with scarves and bandanas in photos.

After Michael's comment last year, Val wrote even wrote on Facebook, "Michael Douglas wrote me a nice note apologizing for suggesting to the press overseas, I "wasn't doing too well…" and was grateful to hear I am doing well. He's a classy guy."
